Ways Teachers can help prevent cyber-bullying:
Central York school district does address cyber-bullying. It says that, if a student misuses the computer in harmful, inappropriate, or if they violate any other of the policy, they will be lose privileges, get detention, suspension, or expulsion.
A real cyber-bullying issue.
- Learn to recognize cyber bullying.
- Figure out when the cyber bullying began and the cause.
- Tell the victim to deactivate social networking accounts and change their email address and/or cell phone numbers if the bullying persists.
- Tell the victim not to retaliate (get even with them), they may find themselves in an even worse position.
- Tell the victim to not give the bully a reaction. That will only add fuel to a fire.
